Periods 8 & 9 Sketchbook Assignments

As discussed on the first day, sketchbook assignments are a requirement for the Studio Art course. A sketchbook is a tool for improvement and documents your growth as an artist. You may choose to provide your own sketchbook, or you may add blank paper to the inside of your Studio Art folder. Assignments are to be done for homework. Any student working on their sketchbook assignment in class, without permission, will receive half credit for that assignment. Sketchbooks that are not handed in by their due date listed below will lose 2 points for each class day it is late.

Each quarter the sketchbook assignments will focus on a specific topic.

Quarter Two will focus on ART MOVEMENTS

The guidelines are listed below:

· For each weekly assignment choose TWO movements to research.

· Research must be about a half page of information, hand written and legible or you will lose points.

· In addition to information about each movement you must include MULTIPLE samples of work in the style of the movement. They can be printed in grayscale. This can be printed in the classroom but must be done before the due date.

· At the top of each page please write your name, the movement and the due date.
